Located in Shoreditch, the Roots of Shoreditch New Age Music Hall is designed to rebuild a community divided by gentrification. The need for a ‘New Age Music Hall’ was identified as a way of allowing all cultures to come together and express their cultural identity through the universal language of music. Through extensive acoustic research plastic was identified as the only material that can reflect 100% of sound waves. Through this the project aims to utilise plastic as a key structural component and set a precedent to the industry for wider use of waste plastic within construction.
