Mermaid Inn Extension, Rye
This project was focused on creating an extension to the Mermaid Inn, a 15th century coaching inn. The design was inspired by the historical culture of Rye, as well as the design philosophies of Carlo Scarpa. As requested by the owner of the Inn, the project aims to address the difficulties using the outdoor courtyard, by creating an extension that better integrates the businesses capabilities in providing outdoor services, as well a flexible interior with multiple accommodation suites.
