Juxtaposition to Connect
This project is a further exploration of Michel Foucault’s theory on structuralism. It is designed as a public building which offers the community brand new perspectives to connect with the Cathedral, the landmark of the town, under the research lens of texture. Various programs are designed along the proposed routes for different user groups to encourage them to climb up to the top of the building.
Located in Fish Island, a diverse area in Hackney Wick, this project aims to revitalize the historic boathouse and links back to the history of pottery factory that used to be located along the river. It provides a place for education, meditation and production for the community.
