Stage 4, MArch

Gothic’s multifaceted nature was explored in first semester, looking at Gothic as a way to tell a story of the divine and grotesque through ornamentation, iconography and symbolism. These themes of the Gothic and its juxtaposing nature was taken forward in second semester on the medieval city wall of Canterbury. Here a wine making tower is proposed to encapsulate the divine and grotesque, celebrating the tragedies of Canterbury making it the city it is today.
