At the former heart of Folkestone, between the sea and town, is a non-space, dominated by roads and vehicles. The new town square (images 1-5) reconnects landscape and people, and creates a destination that works in all seasons.

La Rue du Bac in Paris (images 6-10) formerly was a trading route outside of the city walls comprising a tributary of la Seine. This scheme rediscovers its distinct identity, eschewing homogeneity and giving citizens back their own neighbourhood.
