As gentrification creeps along the Lee Navigation many boat dwellers are seeing their way of life threatened. The proposal aims to reverse this trend by providing bathhouse and laundrette facilities, amenities which many take for granted but are otherwise invaluable for a nomadic lifestyle aboard a narrowboat. The tectonics of the proposal are inspired by the solid resilience of the canals combined with the lightweight buoyancy of narrowboats to create a juxtaposition of spaces.
